NIN live @ Barclays Center
Had the privilege to shoot Nine Inch Nails at the Barclays Center in downtown Brooklyn last night thanx to an extremely talented old friend who recently started playing as part of the band, Josh Eustis. Hell yeah man! They played a nearly 2 hour set, shreddin' thru jams off the new album 'Hesitation Marks' as well as an arsenal of old classics from Trent Reznor's 20 plus year catalog as NIN. I first saw them play at the initial Lollapalooza back in '91 at Pine Knob outside Detroit. It's pretty amazing to think that this rag-tag bunch who blew me away as a teenager 22 years ago, destroying their synths (literally) in the middle of the day to a baffled, yet super psyched crowd, would be playing epic anthems of a generation while still innovating in the electronic/rock music worlds to a packed house at a giant basketball stadium! And just to make things even weirder, having Godspeed You! Black Emperor opening for them? A crazy, inspired choice. Pretty psyched to have had last night's massive show as my first Barclays experience... ((()))
