Spaceman in the aquarium ()()()()

A couple weeks back J. Spaceman played an intimate, improvised set with Oneida (and current Spiritualized drummer) Kid Millions at Le Poisson Rouge here in NYC. The show took place on the evening of the 9/11 anniversary in the middle of some unusually hot and humid September weather.  I had been shooting photographs earlier in the day with a friend down in lower Manhattan around the WTC Memorial, so the show seemed to take on a bit of a somber, chaotic vibe at first... very possibly due to the headspace I was in. However, throughout the set things seemed to pick up and become more uplifting and beautiful. Maybe that's what they were going for? The initial mayhem followed by a rainbow after the dust settles from the initial explosion, giving way to a sort of healing...
