The Wonderful Surreality of an Annual Tradition - Thanksgiving 2012

So this year I was finally able to experience the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in person... at least the early morning preparation part, as I had to be at work by 9 a.m. when the parade itself kicked off. Regardless, it was pretty awesome to see the balloons in person, so much bigger and cooler than they appear on TV... I'm a sucker for holiday traditions, and this is a big one for me. And there's something pretty amazing about emerging from a subway tunnel as the sun rises only to be greeted first thing by a giant Papa Smurf at a bus stop w/ clowns rollerskating by...

And since the office is located on 6th Ave., at least I was able to watch sections of the parade heading south right out the windows from the 10th floor, which was also pretty cool to witness...

After work, made it over to Phil + Roberta's for Thanksgiving dinner back in Greenpoint, who are always gracious hosts and partiers... much thanx!
